In Loving Memory

October 25, 1959- July 20, 2002
I'm Free

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free; I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard him call; I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work, or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way; I've found that place at the close of the day.

If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared,a laugh, a kiss; Ah yes, these things, I too, will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow; I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much; Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seems all too brief; Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me; God wanted me now, He set me free.

****************************************************************** It's almost been 5 years...I think about you nearly every day--
in nearly every situation -- whether it's to tell you a funny story,
ask your advice, hubby-bash, to hear you defend me (even when
we both know I'm wrong) or just to talk for hours about
nothing. Some days I feel so cheated- we were supposed to grow
old together- we were supposed to get dentures, glasses, and
hearing aids together- we were supposed to file for social
security together. You were supposed to bury me- you could
handle losing me much better than I could handle losing you.
It's not true what they say-- time doesn't really heal everything. ******************************************************************
